Tigase Server Install questions

Hi!

I'm trying to setup Tigase 2.9.5-b606 on my Debian Etch server.

1. What is the recommended installation directory? Is /opt/tigase ok?
2. What user should the server be running as?
3. Is there anything else important to keep in mind?

Hello,

Tigase doesn't need anything special as far as I know.
I usually install it in /opt/tigase or in selected user home directory.

It runs fine as root user as well as normal user, let's say 'tigase' user.

tbh, for me as author installation is simple and straightforward but obviously it may not be so please if you are stuck or have any problems or doubts don't hesitate to ask. I am usually online at jabber id: kobit AT tigase.org.

There are system startup scripts for gentoo and fedora as far as I know in SVN. You can use them as a sample file for your debian installation.
I would be happy if you could share debian startup scripts if you have them.
