Clients go Off Line

I have been testing out Tigase Server 2.8.7 on a Linux Fedora 4 server on a tiny test network with 2 Window 2000 Miranda clients. It works fine but on 2 different occasions when returning back to work over a weekend the 2 clients show a on line status but show each other as being off line. After taking 1 client(always the same one) off line and bringing the client on line again everything is fine. If I toggle the other client it doesn't help. Any ideas to make this more reliable??

between one of your clients and the server and this client doesn't notice this for some reason. Tigase server notice this so it marks the user as off-line.
It may happen sometimes if there is a firewall between to end points in TCP/IP connection. Maybe this issue is related somehow to software firewall used in Windows system??

Anyway, you asked for an advice how to make it more reliable. Many clients have an option to send keep-alive packets to the server to generate some traffic which prevents from dropping connection on some firewalls and also it allows to discover connection loss in some cases.

I don't know Miranda clients but I have seen such option in many other Jabber clients. Have a look at your client settings and let me know if you found something.
